BECOME A REGISTERED SALESPERSON IN TWO EASY STEPS

Real estate is a regulated profession in Ontario, so all salespersons must be registered with the Real Estate Council of Ontario (RECO). The Real Estate Salesperson Program, delivered by Humber College, is your first step towards becoming a real estate professional in Ontario. Then, the second step is to register with RECO through a real estate brokerage like us!

Step 1: Complete the Pre-Registration Real Estate Program

The Real Estate Salesperson Program has been designed for your success. You can apply and start your coursework at any point during the year, without the commitment of a full-time, semester-based program. The program comprises of 5 courses, 4 exams and 2 simulation sessions. You will have a maximum of 24 months to complete the program.

Step 2: Register with RECO

Upon completing Step 1, you are now eligible to register with RECO. You have one year to complete your registration from the time you complete pre-registration. You can start trading in real estate once you are registered with RECO.

Before you register with RECO, you’ll need to obtain employment from a registered real estate brokerage, as well as a Canada-wide criminal record check. You can then submit an Application for New Salesperson along with the $590 registration fee. Once RECO has reviewed your application they will invoice you for your professional liability insurance. Insurance for the full year of the policy period running January 1st to December 31st costs $465.
